Generations have
begun here.

Since 1957, St. James has been part of the life of Vernon. The next home must carry forward the faith, learning and community that families have entrusted to it.

We must plan for what comes next.

Planning for the next hundred years means building for the children who are here now, while leaving room for those who will follow.

Life beside the parish.

The proposed campus would bring St. James School beside Our Lady of the Valley Church, placing worship, learning and community life close together.

Phase one: K–8.

The first phase is planned to include daycare, preschool and Kindergarten through Grade 8—one campus serving children through the years that form the foundation of a life.

Phase two: through high school.

A future second phase would create a Grades 9–12 facility, giving Catholic education room to accompany students into young adulthood.

A place to gather.
A community to strengthen.

The vision for the campus includes a gathering place for the life that brings people together: time for prayer, a shared meal, a family celebration.

What this space could make possible

Gather in faith.
Spiritual retreats and gatherings that give people time to pray, reflect and grow together.
Celebrate together.
Banquets and wedding celebrations that bring families and friends around a shared table.
Build lasting connections.
Parish and community gatherings where neighbours meet and relationships grow across generations.

Supporting this vision could help create a place of welcome and belonging for generations.

A patron for the school. An invitation to become one.

St. James answered Christ’s call with courage and generosity. He gives the school a patron and an example: faith made visible through a life of action.

Now a new generation of patrons can help give Catholic education a lasting home in the North Okanagan.
